Nestled in the northwest quadrant of Licking County, Liberty Township is bordered by Bennington, McKean, St. Albans, and Monroe Townships.
Historical Roots
The presence of mound-builder activity is a testament to our rich history, with a single mound standing as a silent witness in Liberty Township. European settlement began in the 1820s, culminating in the creation of Liberty Township in 1827 by dividing Monroe. The southeastern corner once housed the small village of Concordance, founded in 1832 by Reverend Owens and David Adams.
